Maternity is a social system that functions as opposed to a private mechanism. Motherhood is entwined with myths and philosophies, all of which exert constant social pressures. Maternity is regarded by the general public as a fallacy that has been ingrained in their minds for a long time. It has a profound effect on women's lifestyles. Many women have a public obsession with being a successful mother and a woman in society, which has led to the material myth. I got interested in three Jewish and Christian mythological mother figures, Maria, Eve, and Lilith, and investigated how they are represented in my work, modern culture, and art.

Since I come from a Christian family, Maria is the strongest for me to correspond representative women's life pattern. She is Jesus' mother and God's wife, according to the Bible. It hardly mentions Maria's relationship with the God who is expected to announce her pregnancy. She was expecting a child without having had sex with God. When this happened, angels revealed the pregnancy by saying, "This means she hasn't inherited Eve's original sin." With this illustration, mothers are involved with several typifications that women should be virtuous and considerate. People are identified with her holy spiritual image as well as the traditional mother's image so readers cannot find any identities of her.

During my research, I learned that Adam, the first man on the planet, has two wives: Lilith and Eve. I had never heard of Lilith when I was learning Genesis at church. Lilith, the first wife in Jewish mythology, is self-assured, assertive, and truthful. The second wife, Eve, on the other hand, is submissive and obedient. Her traces can be found in the Bible.

In addition, there is another woman in the following chapter.

She is Adam's wife, Eve, whom I have regarded as the only one. I'm curious as to why Lilith (or a woman) never reappeared after the LORD made a new woman for him. Lilith is far too weird to be a wife or a mother. Eve has been approved since she adheres to the defined rules. Lilith, on the other hand, has been removed from the patriarchal system because she deviates from the norm.

The importance of maternity is involved with myths and ideologies, which delivers the collective pressure. In a movie titled "Marriage story", Laura Dern takes a monologue about a Material myth related to Maria. In Christian society, the image of the mother is associated with Maria who is the mother of Jesus and, the father is related to God who is the father of Jesus. But, Maria was pregnant without sex with God. With this custom, mothers are involved with several typifications that mothers don’t have faces because she is a holy spirit. They is because she got a son only with a saying from the God. Last but not least, they are sacrificed like a weeping Mary statute. Maria’s myths in bible have strengthened a type of the maternity as traditionally visualized via several arts like sculptures, paintings and so on.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary. - Apostles' Creed

The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel"--which means, "God with us.” Matthew 1:23

“God created man in His image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them” Genesis 1:27
“The LORD God fashioned the rib that He had taken from the man into a woman; and He brought her to the man. Then the man said, “This one at last Is bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh. This one shall be called Woman” Genesis 2:22, 23
I'm a late-twenties woman who wonders if I'll ever be free of this myth. Since I am too selfish, self-assured, and so-called Lilith-like, which society hasn't appreciated for a long time, I don't want to be submissive, sacrificial, and altruistic like Maria or Eve. I'm afraid that if I choose Lilith's existence instead of Maria's or Eve's, I'll be cast out because Christianity rejects Lilith's myth.

In cultural tropes and storytelling, women's identities are mostly based on either their children or men. It is impossible to be self-centered. Maria's life isn't solely for the sake of being herself. She describes herself as a mother or a wife. There is no mention of Maria's birth, development, or death in the Bible, according to what I've heard. Relationships with husbands, such as Lilith and Eve's, determine an individual's life. Female identities are defined by their relationships with males, and female identities are determined by their relationships with children. The aforementioned surrounds the life of women. This is why women find it difficult to be snow; women. Nonetheless, I aspire to be snow; woman.

When I was young, I was upset with my mom. Because she is not a typical mom like other moms. She was too busy to participate in open classes for parents. She was too busy to take care of my education. She was too busy to give me nice meals every morning. I wanted Maria but, she was not Maria. I think she tried to be Maria for me but, she could not.
This questioning results in my painting series < My Dearest Love > where I recreate the meaning of tears representing not sorrow, but frustration for the world. I only focus on the face of weeping Maria by voluntarily showing her on emotion that has been deleted. This could lead to dissolution for the female’s prejudice that has been an obstacle for living as a oneself.
